Meet Carlos Davis, his Corporate Customers
and Learn About his Process.

Photo of Carlos Davis the artist.Carlos Davis has been in photography for 40 years.  He is the newsletter editor and columnist for the Camera Club of Brevard and publishes a “Helpful Hints” column for both the newsletter and Photographic Age (www.photographicage.com), an on-line photographic magazine.  His work has appeared in Prentice Hall’s Applied College Algebra and Trigonometry and Applied College Algebra and Trigonometry with Calculus textbooks.  He has also been on display at the Minos Gallery in Cocoa Village, the Henegar Center for the Arts in Melbourne, FL and is currently on display at the Discount Design House, 3260 W. New Haven Ave, Melbourne, FL.  He has won several awards in juried photography contests from the Camera Club of Brevard.  A display of his work can also be found at many of the art shows located around the state of Florida.  He is sought after as a speaker on various aspects of photography.  Carlos and his wife Linda, who is also a photographer and author, spend several weeks at a time traveling the United States and the world seeking that special image that will look perfect on your wall.  Carlos avoids specialization seeking instead to tackle varied and challenging subjects from macro to panorama landscapes.

Carlos uses primarily Fuji Provia and Velvia 35mm slide film in a Nikon F5 or Hasselblad XPan II camera.  The film is processed by a local lab.  Then the film is scanned using a Nikon Coolscan 4000 scanner.  Next, he creates a master digital file using his digital darkroom.  In the digital darkroom, Carlos uses burning and dodging as you would in a traditional optical darkroom.  He can also correct color shift, crossover, and contrast.  Once the digital output file is created, it is printed either on a Lightjet 5000 by a professional lab or on an Epson 2200 using Epson archival inks and paper with a tested longevity of 75 + years.

Corporate Customers:  Many of Carlos's works have been purchased by the following Corporate customers:  Casa Mariposa, Inc., Doug Gilbert Accounting, Inc., Money Strategies, Inc., Recall Technologies, Inc., and Square Meter Productions, Inc.
